The NoPo HiPCO reactor is a marvel of technology. It has to sustain high temperatures and pressures over a long period of time. With the solution of each problem we have been able to focus on automating the system.
Last summer, we had an intern work on using the latest ESP8266 microcontroller and Raspberry Pi to automate one of our reactors successfully. We developed new control software. A cool UI and an incredible reliability. The system has been online for 6 months straight and has performed flawlessly.
